Yes. A non-programmable calculator is permitted on both exam parts — the Calculations part in particular relies on arithmetic for ampacity, voltage drop, conduit fill, and load calculations.

The Texas Journeyman Electrician exam is administered as two separately timed parts:

• NEC Knowledge — 59 questions, 130 minutes

The Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician exam is administered by PSI for the Board of State Examiners of Electricians and consists of two parts:
